Innovative Outcomes has experience working with agricultural businesses, corporate organisations, community groups and government agencies. Here are just some examples:

Facilitation

  • To review the past five years of the Goulburn Broken Catchment Management Authority’s (CMA) Farm Program’s achievements and to facilitate the design of the Program’s future. To document the results of the Farm Program, to celebrate the grassroots work throughout the region, and to describe the next five years of work.
  • To review the support that the Catholic Education Office offers schools within the Sandhurst diocese so as to determine if/how this support needed to change.
  • To facilitate a workshop to successful merge two of the Goulburn Broken Catchment Management Authority’s (CMA) Implementation Committees.
  • To design a Rapid Response Plan for New & Emerging Weeds. Up to this point if a new weed was found in Victoria there was no process for what to do. A joint venture between a couple of Universities, the Herbarium and Department of Sustainability and Environment commissioned this workshop to put in place a process to work with bush walkers and landholders to eradicate new weeds.
  • To facilitate a “where to from here” session at a Soil Sodicity Conference. Often participants walk away from conferences with a lot of information but no plan to do anything with the knowledge. This workshop was designed to achieve greater collaboration between researchers so as to improve project outcomes.

Scoping Projects

  • To facilitate a scoping workshop for the “Sustaining our Resources – Dairying for Tomorrow” project for a funding application
  • To plan the design of an irrigation research project in northeast Victoria as an adjunct project to work being carried out in northern Victoria.
  • To facilitate the design and development of the Nutrients in Drains Project for northern Victoria.

Strategic Planning

  • To develop a 3 year strategic plan for Field & Game Australia. It is, at heart, a conservation organisation with a strong focus on wetland restoration and care. Members of FGA are hunters, clay target enthusiasts and world leaders in wetland conservation. Its vision is to preserve and promote recognised cultural traditions through Best Practice in the area of conservation, hunting and target shooting.
  • To develop a strategic plan for the Arts, Events and Tourism Department within Greater Shepparton City Council. The Department was the first to develop its Strategic Plan under the new structure and so provided a blueprint in the way all other departments presented their work.
  • To review, mid term, the Shepparton Theatre Art Group’s Strategic Plan and realign the plan for the remainder of the term. This helped to reinvigorate the volunteer board and focus their direction for the next 18 months.

Business Planning

  • To update Murray Dairy’s 5 year Regional Development Plan for dairy industry development. This involved consulting with the farmers and service providers of the region, facilitating workshops and interacting with the board to generate new project proposals and new areas of work.
  • To develop an Employment Strategy and Business Plan for the Greater Green Triangle Area Consultative Committee in south west Victoria and south east South Australia.
  • To review the Murray Darling Basin Commission’s (then) current strategic investigations and education issues and make recommendations as to best practice elements of transfer and adoption of information.
  • To develop a business plan for a number of dairy farming family businesses to clarify roles and responsibilities and develop an action plan for yearly goals. In one instance I developed a complimentary/value added business venture which is now the highly acclaimed Gundowring Ice-cream Company.

Community Consultation

  • “Revitalising Rushworth” – a community development project designed to strengthen the community of Rushworth and invigorate the community to generate real options to help the town thrive.
  • After consulting with a wide range of stakeholders, the Milk Quality & Harvesting Prospectus was written. It was used to promote an integrated approach to milk quality and harvesting projects to the key stakeholders and funding bodies within the dairy industry.

Organisational Development

  • To develop new staff structures, roles and responsibilities for The Tax Group.
  • To develop and document the key competencies of the role of a Best Wool coordinator, to develop an assessment framework and to identify training opportunities for that role.
  • To develop new approaches of communication and interaction within the new Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) – Hydrology.

Project Management

  • Emerge Festival – Established as a joint partnership between Greater Shepparton City council and Multicultural Arts Victoria. Attended by 2,500 people, this was a hallmark event to profile emerging refugee arts and culture. From this event there has been an increased involvement by emerging and refugee communities and artists in art programs throughout the region.
  • Countdown Downunder – A national dairy industry program to improve milk quality by reducing mastitis, improving udder health and dairy farm profitability. It has led to the current program Countdown 2020 to provide farmers with clear, consistent information and resources for monitoring and managing mastitis in their herds.

Testimonials

  • I worked closely with Fiona on the second Emerge at Twilight Festival in March 2013. It was an enormous and daunting task to move the festival from an indoor space of 700 capacity to an outdoor space catering for 3000 people. Fiona worked with the team to develop a site plan that incorporated everyone’s vision. She worked tirelessly on the day of the event and always maintained a friendly, positive and approachable manner. She is a great facilitator, worked well with the many diverse stakeholders and got the job done with no fuss.

  • Fiona has assisted Field & Game Australia on a number of projects over the last 14 years. She has guided us through difficult stakeholder engagement processes with government, facilitated meetings with other industry organisations, and only recently, led the board through a comprehensive strategy planning project. Fiona keeps participants focused, delivers projects professionally, on time and always with impeccable interpersonal skills.
